Grandparents Day Photo Album

July 26

Dear families and friends,

I had a wonderful visit with my sister this past week, her 13 year-old daughter and 2 of her friends.  Days were full of sun, beach, and laughter.  My daughter, Katherine, was also around for most of the visit.  We shared lots of memories of my mom.  Jane brought my mom down to visit from Vermont in past summers, and it was nice to remember all the good times together.  We still miss our mom terribly, but we know that our memories will remain with us forever.

I am getting ready to leave for DC to teach another Responsive Classroom I workshop and then I fly on to Columbus, Ohio for the last one for the summer.  I am looking forward to finding time to visit the Washington Mall and a quick visit to some of the historic sites while I am in DC.  I do plan on visiting a niece while I am there.  Should be lots of fun.

I hear that lots of things are taking place at Four Corners School this summer with a summer program and renovation projects.  I will not get to see things until I return.  I anxiously thinking about how to ready my room for my new first graders and also meeting some new additions to our wonderful staff.  Hope you all continue to enjoy the summer, it will be over before we know it!

Keep in touch and check in once in a while. :)

Our hopes and dreams for the remainder of the school year are helping to focus our learning this spring.  There are still things we want to accomplish before June.  The rules help us remember that we need to work as a team to help each other meet our goals.

Our Thursday after lunch weekly guest reader is Dr. Buchanan.  He has shared some wonderful books with us and has generously donated several to our class library.  We are fortunate and happy to have him come read every Thursday.

You can use the navigation bar to visit the various pages on the site.  It takes time to update pages with recent information. I will try to do my best to keep text and photos current. So please plan to visit again.   You can email me at marhar1@gpsk12.org.
